How to pick a color using
paintbrush?
Paintbrush comes with a "color picker" tool to choose color from an image.

So start using simple editing
techniques with Windows Paintbrush, and same techniques will be used on other
advance graphic tools.
- 1. To start Paintbrush in Windows 7, type “pbrush” without quotes on the search box and click on “pbrush” from the search result. See image below:
Another way of to open is to click
on “All Programs”, click on “Accessories” then select “Paint” and click on it.

“Color Picker” tool will come
handy, if you have an existing picture or image and need to use the same color
on other images or text; if color branding is quite important or if you just
want to re-use the same color.
To open paintbrush in Windows 8, on the start menu just type "paint" without quotes and click on "Paint" from the result. See image below:
- 2. To start using “Color Picker” tool on Paintbrush application, click “Color Picker” tool from “Home” ribbon. It looks like an eye dropper; on other graphics software pick color tool is called as “eye dropper”.

- 3. From paintbrush open any image or picture, if you have a standard graphic image in which you can pick color, or a color wheel. Then open the image in Paintbrush.
Or see an image below which has a
collection of colors on a box.
The Paintbrush window will open to
the size of the picture, drag the edges to resize. See image below.
Once the image is open, click on
the “Color Picker” tool and click on the image, and the color that was click
will be available as a foreground color or color1.

- 4. To apply the picked color, you can use it to write a text or fill a shape with that color.
That is just a simple way on how to
use “Color Picker” tool using Paintbrush in windows.
